John C. Morris

My name is John Morris. I am a new resident of Saint Louis, Missouri and twice a graduate of The Florida State University in Tallahassee, Florida. I completed my Bachelor’s degree in December 2009 with majors in History and Political Science, and my Master of Science in History in April 2012.

In June 2012, I moved to Saint Louis to begin a two-year commitment as a Teach for America Corps Member. In the Fall of 2012, I began teaching 10th grade World History at Riverview Gardens High School.

Currently, I am pursuing a Master’s degree in secondary education from the University of Missouri — St. Louis.

Prior to joining Teach for America, I was employed by the Foundation for Excellence in Education, an educational policy organization chaired by former Florida Governor Jeb Bush.

I am a proud and faithful Roman Catholic and am deeply interested and involved in issues of social justice. I am a member of St. John the Apostle and Evangelist parish in downtown Saint Louis, Missouri.

I hope you will take a few moments to review my educational and professional history.

Thank you in advance for your time.

Update: In September 2012, I was severely injured in a car accident and left in a coma for nearly a month. I am recovering well and hope to return to work for the 2013-2014 school year. After numerous miracles took place, I am thankfully in line for a complete recovery that will allow me to return to normal life.
